PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

Land Between Boone & Wilkesboro, NC!

In 1892, the "Harley" post office opened its doors for business. Since then, Rand McNally, and other maps, have included the "town" of Harley along U.S. Highway 421 in western Wilkes County.
"History tells us that the Harley Post Office was actually in the top drawer of the bedroom chest of drawers in the bedroom of a 2-story 1901 farmhouse built with lumber milled on his property by one Adolphus Taylor. His son's name was "Harley", and soon locals would say "I'm going up to Harley's Post Office.
Today, the "Town of Harley" is FOR SALE - and you can own it on 82 acres of open meadow and woodland just off "Old Highway 421".
Located midway between Wilkesboro and Boone, it's the perfect blend of living in the country - yet convenient to the many activities offered in the "High Country" of NW North Carolina.
Wildlife is plentiful - with numerous deer grazing in the meadow most mornings. You're also likely to see a parade of wild turkey strutting across the property in the spring. Adjoining Harley on the north are thousands of acres of undeveloped forest. Across Highway 421 the view is another 3,000-5,000 acres of pristine forest land.
Elevations are about 1,400' - 1,600' which provides cooler summer mornings than in the Piedmont or SandHills of eastern North Carolina.
So . . . are you ready to own the "town" of Harley? Ready to literally put yourself "on the map" when you own this beautiful mountain property?
